Unlike traditional belt drive setups, Technics’ direct drive system minimises motor-induced vibrations, ensuring an exceptional signal-to-noise ratio and long-term reliability without the need for frequent part replacements. However, earlier models faced "cogging" issues due to iron cores, affecting rotation regularity. Technic's platter's advanced design ensures superior sound quality by combining a two-layer construction with strategic deadening rubber.
